Settings overview
A reference for every option in the Swift Checkout admin panel. Settings are organized across three tabs: General, Appearance, and License.
General tab
Access at Swift Checkout → General. This tab controls the checkout layout, side cart behavior, store policies, and trust badges.
Checkout
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Swift Checkout | Off | Activates the plugin checkout page. Administrators always see Swift Checkout regardless of this setting — use it to review before enabling for customers. |
| Show to all visitors | Off | When off, only site administrators see Swift Checkout. Turn this on when you’re ready to go live. |
| Show company field | Off | Adds a company name input to the billing address form. Useful for B2B stores. |
| Show order notes | On | Lets customers add a note to their order. Appears as a text area on the checkout page. |
| Show coupon field in summary | On | Adds a coupon input to the order summary sidebar. Applied discounts show inline immediately. |
| Checkout layout | Multi-step | Multi-step: Contact → Shipping → Payment — customers proceed one step at a time. Recommended for most stores.
One-page: All fields visible at once. Faster for returning customers who complete checkout quickly. |
| Add order review step | Off | Adds a Review step after Payment. Customers see a full summary of items, address, and shipping method before submitting. Useful for reducing errors on high-value orders. |
Side Cart
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enable side cart | On | Adds a sliding cart drawer accessible from all pages of your store. Customers can view items, adjust quantities, remove products, and proceed to checkout without leaving the current page. |
| Auto-open on add to cart | On | The cart drawer opens automatically when a product is added to the cart. Turn off if you prefer customers to continue browsing without the cart opening. |
| Free shipping progress bar | On | Shows a progress bar inside the cart drawer indicating how much more the customer needs to spend to qualify for free shipping. Updates live as items are added or removed.
Requires a free shipping method with a minimum order amount configured in WooCommerce → Shipping → Shipping zones. |
Store Policies
Enter URLs for your store’s policy pages. When a URL is provided, a link appears at the bottom of the checkout. Customers who click it see the policy page open in a modal overlay — they never leave the checkout flow.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Terms & Conditions URL | URL to your Terms & Conditions page. Leave blank to hide the link. |
| Returns & Refunds URL | URL to your Returns & Refunds policy. Leave blank to hide the link. |
| Shipping Policy URL | URL to your Shipping Policy page. Leave blank to hide the link. |
Trust Badges
Trust badges appear in the order summary sidebar at checkout to increase customer confidence.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Show trust badges | Off | Master toggle for the trust badge section. Must be on for any badges to appear. |
| Select badges | Secure payment, SSL | Choose which preset badges to display. Available options: Secure payment, SSL encrypted connection, 30-day money-back guarantee, Free returns, Customer support available, Accepted payment methods (shows Visa / Mastercard / PayPal / Amex logos). |
| Trust badge image | — | Upload a custom image to display as a trust badge — for example an SSL certificate seal or award logo. Shown above the text badges. |
| Custom text lines | — | Add custom trust lines with your own text and an optional icon (checkmark, lock, shield, return, shipping, chat, or star). Useful for messages like “Dispatched within 24 hours” or “Finnish customer service”. |
Appearance tab
Access at Swift Checkout → Appearance. Controls the visual identity of the checkout page.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Store logo | — | Displayed in the top-left corner of the checkout page header. Upload via the WordPress media library. Recommended image height: 40–60 px. If left empty, no logo is shown. |
| Primary color | #2563eb | Applied to buttons, active step indicators, and links throughout the checkout. Use your brand’s primary color. Accepts any valid hex color. |
License tab
Access at Swift Checkout → License.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| License key | Paste the license key from your purchase confirmation email. The key authenticates your installation with swiftcheckout.io and enables automatic plugin updates. See Activating your license key for step-by-step instructions. |
